About the Reviews

This is something I do primarily to help other authors get the word out about their books, as well as a bit of extra writing practice for me. I love to read, and esoteric topics are among my biggest favorites.

One of my features is the monthly Bargain Bin Book Review, in which I review a book selected from the clearance rack at my local thrift store. This happens at some random point during the month, depending on my schedule. Will this month’s book be abysmal, or will it be a treasure that someone else missed?

Speaking of ratings, here’s a general guide to the rating system, on a five pawprint scale:

Five pawprints: A must-have for the library, can’t say enough good about it.
Four pawprints: Good, not absolutely stunning, but a good read nonetheless.
Three pawprints: Okay, could use some improvement.
Two pawprints: Eh. If you see it used, you might want to pick it up if you really want to.
One pawprint: Don’t bother. There are probably little to no redeeming qualities to this book.

There are also half-pawprints (don’t ask me about the biological specifics of those!). They are, of course, halfway in between. And do be aware that the above system is general; details may vary.
