However, Better World Books is going on my list of places to check before I buy from Amazon.</description>

On the making-things-better front, I would like to take a moment to let you and your readers know about &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.betterworld.com/&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Better World Books&lt;/a&gt;, if you&#039;re not already aware... they&#039;re a social-venture online bookstore that partners with literacy programs around the world (and they offer free shipping anywhere in the continental US!). Their discount is not as steep as Amazon&#039;s (around 20% on average, vs Amazon&#039;s frequent 40%), but the free shipping helps with that - and I appreciate that their financial commitments to their charity partners are paid off the top, out of gross revenues, rather than just the leftovers from profits.</description>
